Google has begun rolling out Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash, an updated video-generation and editing model that can create clips as long as 15 seconds and revise them through a sequence of conversational instructions. The company says the model is generally available through the Gemini API and Gemini for business, with related capabilities also offered in Google Vids.
The new 15-second ceiling increases the maximum native clip length from 10 seconds in Omni 1.1. Users can request durations from three to 15 seconds in one-second increments, giving creators more control over the size of a generated segment. Google positions the change for product demonstrations, social advertising and other short-form material that can fit within a single generation.
Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash also supports multi-turn editing. A user can ask the model to change an element such as a product, background, lighting, weather or aspect ratio while retaining the rest of an existing clip. The feature is designed to reduce the need to regenerate a video from the beginning when only one detail needs revision. Google says the editing workflow operates across the full 15-second duration.
Reference handling is another focus of the release. Inputs can include character, product or style images, brief motion clips and audio cues. Google says the model more consistently preserves faces, clothing, packaging text, brand colors, props and settings as the camera moves or a scene changes. It also claims improvements in continuous camera motion, dialogue, lip synchronization and the assignment of distinct sampled voices to different characters. These quality statements are Google's own demonstrations and have not been independently benchmarked in the supplied evidence.
The company lowered the listed price by 30 percent compared with Omni 1.1, setting 720p generation at $0.07 per second. Google suggests drafting at 360p or 720p, making targeted conversational edits, and upscaling selected results to 1080p or 4K. That workflow could reduce waste when a creator needs several variants, although actual costs will depend on the number of generations and edits.
The release reflects a broader shift from one-shot text-to-video prompts toward iterative production tools. Longer clips matter, but continuity and selective revision are especially important for commercial work, where a model must keep a product or character recognizable across frames and versions.
Google says Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash is available immediately in its named developer and business products. Prospective users should still evaluate output accuracy, rights requirements and consistency for their own material rather than treating vendor examples as guarantees.
